On 13 December last year the European Commission informed about the approval of the Polish support scheme for renewable energy sources. Within the next few years green energy producers in Poland will receive PLN 40 billion of public aid. The funds will be distributed through auctions managed by the Energy Regulatory Office. The auction rules will directly stem from the Renewable Energy Sources Act following the amendment awaited by the RES industry, which is currently being worked on in the Ministry of Energy.
