PGE Energia Odnawialna is a company belonging to the PGE Group, which is the largest energy holding company operating on the Polish market and one of the largest entities of this type in Central and Eastern Europe. The company was founded in 1993 and initially operated under the name of Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe. It has been part of the PGE Capital Group since 2007 and has been the leader of the Renewable Energy segment since 2010. The main areas of activity of PGE Energia Odnawialna are the generation of electricity from renewable energy sources (RES) and the provision of System Services (under an agreement with PSE S.A.). PGE Energia Odnawialna has four branches that carry out operational activities: ZEW Porąbka Żar Branch, ZEW Solina-Myczkowce Branch, ZEW Dychów Branch and EW Żarnowiec Branch. In addition, the company manages 21 wind farms, 29 hydroelectric power plants, 4 pumped-storage power plants and 49 photovoltaic farms. The total installed capacity of all facilities is approx. 2660 MW. PGE Energia Odnawialna is the largest producer of energy from renewable sources in Poland. The company’s main areas of development in the coming years will be investments related to wind energy, energy storage and photovoltaics.
