Together with K&L Gates law firm, with the aid of Ministry of Economy and the Energy Regulatory Office PWEA will hold a seminar concerning the practical application of the RES Act (17 March 2015, K&L Gates registered office). Register now!

February 2015 will be remembered by the green energy industry as the month when the long-lasting works on the Renewable Energy Sources Act were completed.

The long-awaited regulation modifies support schemes for renewable energy sources. Companies that complete their investments by the end of 2015 will be eligible
for support under the current Green Certificates scheme. All installations that will produce electricity after 1 January 2016 will be subject to the new auction scheme.

Under the new support scheme RES capacity growth rates will depend on decisions of the state administration. Ministry of Economy, the Energy Regulatory Office and the Council of Ministers will decide how much electricity will be contracted by way of auctions in a particular year. Bidders representing different technologies wind, solar, biomass, biogas and hydro will compete with each other. Unfortunately, it is not only the price that will decide of one’s success.
