The Extraordinary General Assembly of Members of the Polish Wind Energy Association elected the management board for a three-year term. It was once again headed by the current president, Janusz Gajowiecki, and this is his third term in this position.

The composition of the PWEA board has changed – after 5 years of cooperation, Dr. Kamila Tarnacka, the current vice-president of the board, mainly responsible for the offshore wind energy sector. The work in the management board is continued by vice-presidents – Wojciech Cetnarski and Łukasz Zagórski, and two newly appointed vice-presidents – Szymon Kowalski and Paweł Ryglewicz.

The trust which the management board was once again endowed by PWEA members proves that the work of the entire Association brings satisfactory results. With support for the next term of office, we will continue to fight for the development of wind energy both on land and at sea. We will work even harder to eliminate barriers and simplify procedures, because the game is about the greatest possible benefits both for the Polish economy, for companies and entrepreneurs who benefit from it as sub-suppliers, but also for the society – because green energy means clean air and a fight with the climate crisissays Janusz Gajowiecki, President of the Board of the Polish Wind Energy Association.

PWEA CEO adds that 2022 promises to be a busy year for the wind energy industry:  As an industry, we are part of the energy transformation, so we intend to continue to advocate for grid activities that include a direct line and cable pooling – i.e. connecting wind and solar infrastructure. However, our main goal in 2022 is the long-awaited relaxation of the 10H rule that will unleash the wind on land. We hope that the act will be quickly forwarded to the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers so that it can enter into force immediately. Because only thanks to the intensive development of wind energy, we can avoid further increases in electricity pricessays Janusz Gajowiecki.

The Polish Wind Energy Association is an organization that has been working for the development of wind energy in Poland since 1999. Currently, it is one of the most effective lobbying organizations for the shaping of an appropriate legal framework allowing for the development and operation of renewable energy sources in Poland, in particular wind energy.

The overriding goal of the Association is to work to improve the existing and create new legal provisions as well as to increase political and social awareness in the field of wind energy, in order to enable its dynamic development and greater use in Poland. PWEA supports and promotes the development of wind energy, the aim of which, achieved thanks to the joint activity of its members, is to create favorable conditions for investing in wind energy in Poland and to systematically increase the use of wind energy as a clean source of electricity generation.

PWEA brings together leading companies operating on the wind energy market in Poland: investors, developers, manufacturers of turbines and power plant components, both from Poland and abroad.
