On 24 July 2019 Mr Rafał Gawin received a nomination for the position of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office from Mr Krzysztof Tchórzewski, the Minister of Energy.

He will replace Mr Maciej Bando whose term of office ended in early June.

Mr Gawin previously held the position of deputy director of the Market Development and Consumer Affairs Department at the ERO.
