At the end of March the Polish Wind Energy Association in cooperation with WindEurope and the Climate Group launched the RE-Source Poland Hub.

The newly established organisation is to constitute a contact platform between green energy producers and companies interested in obtaining such energy for their operations.

For energy customers it is an opportunity to ensure access to clean electricity to power their production at competitive prices. At the same time, RES investors are seeking new financing opportunities for their projects.

RE-Source Poland Hub will take action to create regulatory environment favouring direct, long-term renewable power purchase agreements between industrial customers and producers. To this end, the Hub will maintain a permanent dialogue with key decision-makers responsible for the design of regulations determining the energy market in Poland.

The launch, held on 28 March in Warsaw, was attended by representatives of the following green energy producers: PGE Energia Odnawialna, EDPR, Polenergia, Statkraft. Energy customers were represented by Carlsberg and Polskie Koleje Państwowe. The Industrial Development Agency was represented by Mr Andrzej Kaźmierski, former Renewable and Distributed Energy Director in Ministry of Energy. The meeting was also attended by Małgosia Bartosik from WindEurope and Sam Kimmins, CEO of the RE-100 initiative, an association of the leading global corporations that committed to use electricity produced from renewable energy sources only.

Polish Wind Energy Association and PV Poland will coordinate the actions of the organisation, which will operate within the RE-Source Platform.
